Specialist skills: Advice
and assistance in
Inland Revenue investigations
If
you are unlucky enough to be on the receiving end of an Inland
Revenue enquiry, or are an adviser acting for a client in that
position, David Cunliffe can provide any specialist advice and
assistance you may need.
David spent over 10 years as a
tax inspector investigating business accounts before leaving
the Inland Revenue in 1988. Since then, he has held senior positions
with major firms of accountants, including KPMG and Ernst &
Young, specialising in giving advice to clients under investigation
by the Revenue. He has also written many published articles
and lectured extensively on the subject.
David has acted for clients caught
up in every type of Inland Revenue enquiry, and given specialist
assistance to accountants and solicitors whose clients were
being investigated. His inside knowledge of how the Inland Revenue
conducts such enquiries and wide experience on both sides of
the fence now benefits the clients he defends, and their existing
advisers, during such investigations.
Whether an enquiry is being conducted
by local Tax Office investigators, or by the HM Revenue &
Customs' elite investigators at Special Civil
Investigations, David's expertise can lead to substantial
savings in any additional tax, interest or penalties being pursued.
His help can also reduce the time, effort and stress for those
involved in the enquiry, and can reduce any risk of a prosecution
for tax offences.
Since April 2006, David Cunliffe
has been providing his investigation defense expertise to clients
and their existing advisers via Qdos
Consulting.
